Brian Clifford
Christian, Husband, Father, Conservative, Public Servant, Attorney, Entrepreneur

Brian Clifford is a Christian, husband, father, lifelong Republican, attorney, small business owner, and a Williamson County Commissioner representing District 12.
He and his wife Michelle have been married 16 years. They are the proud parents of Caroline, 12, and Hayes, 9.
Brian Clifford is one of Williamson County’s most conservative county commissioners.
Combining his conservative principles with common sense, Brian has put his knowledge, experience, and conservative values to work for the residents he represents. He has consistently voted against new taxes and debt, advocating instead for responsible spending that prioritizes community safety and education.
Brian introduced a resolution to deregulate the County Septic Department–protecting property rights, reducing bureaucracy, lowering expenses for our citizens, and reducing government overreach.
Brian's top three priorities for the Williamson County Commission are smart growth, excellent education, and community safety.
Brian will fight hard against bad development projects that threaten our community's values. He supports smart, well-planned growth where proper infrastructure comes first.
He is dedicated to improving our local parks and recreation amenities, including creating new parks to improve the quality of life for all residents.
An attorney by trade, Brian has worked with two large national law firms before serving in state government.
In 2019, Brian joined the Lee administration to serve in the State's Bureau of Parks and Conservation, where he helped lead Tennessee State Parks, State Natural Areas, and State Archaeology, among other areas.
In 2024, Brian was appointed by the Governor to serve as the Director of the State of Tennessee's inaugural Office of Outdoor Recreation.
In 2026, Brian was appointed as Deputy Commissioner for TDEC where he leads Tennessee State Parks, Natural Areas, Archaeology, and Outdoor Recreation for the state.
He also founded a family-owned and operated small business for over 10 years.
Outside of his elected and appointed positions, Brian has been an active member of our community, serving in numerous volunteer capacities including:
